What you can DO to feel better
If you want to feel better, research has demonstrated that it is important to DO something. By taking action, our brains are changed and we can more easily recall positive moments to trigger the mind to release chemicals that create positive emotions.
We are providing a few suggestions below, but it is very possible for you to create your own list of what activities comfort you and improve your mood.

- Go for a walk even if only for a few minutes
- Make music - play an instrument or sing
- Dance
- Keep a gratitude journal - write down 5 things you are grateful for daily

- Breathe in to the count of 4, hold for 4, exhale 4, pause 4, repeat 4 times
- Bookmark websites that are uplifting so that you can access them easily when needed
- Find a reason to laugh - watch a movie, talk to a friend, read a funny book

- Plan a vacation - real or imaginary
